About Montana Section
Welcome to the ITE Montana Section – The Big Sky’s Network of Transportation Professionals!
ITE – A Community of Transportation Professionals (ITE) works to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users, helping to build smart and livable communities.
Founded in 1930, ITE is a volunteer-driven association of more than 18,000 engineers, planners, consultants, educators, researchers, technologists, and students working in more than 78 countries.
ITE Montana Section (MT ITE) is affiliated with the ITE Mountain District. We provide opportunities for professional development and community building at the regional and local levels through annual meetings, training, luncheons, and connecting members with area Student Chapters.
Our mission is to be the principal source of professional expertise, knowledge, ideas, and collaborative efforts promoting transportation science and principles throughout the state of Montana. MT ITE promotes professional development of its members, supports and encourages continuing education, and serves as a central source for transportation information.
MT ITE boasts a membership of over 100 individuals with diverse backgrounds including Montana Department of Transportation (MDT), municipal, agency, and private sector professionals. Members serve in a variety of roles within their organizations, including traffic engineers, designers, signal technicians, planners, and project managers.
MT ITE also encourages membership in the sole student chapter within the state located in Bozeman at Montana State University. Many current members of ITE began participating with the chapter as student members. Learn more about the MSU student chapter at: https://montanastateite.weebly.com/our-team.html
