Late registration will remain open from May 16, 2024 to June 4, 2024, at increased rates. There will be no early registration discount this year.

In alignment with ITE International initiatives, the ITE Mountain District will offer discounted registration for younger members (< 29 years old).

As always, our student members will receive a significantly reduced registration rate.

Registration will include all meeting-related activities, technical program sessions, meals, breaks, and the Vista Hall / Mountain Music Reception. Other activities at the resort will be the responsibility of the attendee.

If you have any questions during the event, LAC volunteers at the registration desk, open for the entire duration of the meeting, will be able to assist you. Big Sky Resort also has a venue concierge desk available during business hours.

Transportation

There are numerous options for transportation to and from the Bozeman-Yellowstone Airport. These options include rental cars, private shuttle, Uber / Lyft, public shuttles. The LAC has worked to provide two transportation options to conference attendees.

A public shuttle will be offered between the Bozeman-Yellowstone Airport and the Yellowstone Conference Center at Big Sky Resort on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.going to the Bozeman-Yellowstone Airport. If you require public transportation, but the offered shuttle times do not work, please investigate other options, like carpooling. 

If you are interested in carpooling to/from Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport or during the Annual Meeting, create an account at https://gogallatin.org, our local trip planner web platform. Once you've registered for the conference, you will be provided with a private network and event link. Whether you are planning to rent a car and have extra space or wanting to catch a ride with someone, you'll be able to connect in our private network. Conference Schedule

Technical Program

The Preliminary Technical Program (last updated April 19, 2024) is now available!

This year’s program features 15 technical tracks, including specialty sessions focused on equity in transportation engineering and students entering the workforce. Other highlights include the continuation of the captivating Mountain TED Talks, a limited-capacity technical tour of the new Big Sky Tram, and keynote presentations on Ethics in Transportation and A History of Roads in Montana. Special programming for Students is further discussed in the "Students" section at the bottom of this page.

The technical program will also feature morning and afternoon breaks with lunch and breakfast provided on Thursday and Friday.

Socials and Events

Technical tours and social activities including a First Timer social, hiking, and more to be finalized before the meeting!

Wednesday evening vendor / exhibitor reception - offering appetizers, drinks, and opportunity to interact and mingle with exhibitors.

The Mountain District tradition continues with the Cornhole Tournament - sign up will be on Wednesday afternoon and winners will receive a prize.

The Thursday night event will be our main dinner provided at Vista Hall in the Big Sky Resort Exchange. Vista Hall and its west-facing deck provide stunning views of Lone Peak and the Mountain Plaza. Food, drinks, and live music will be available.

Live music at the Mountain Music Reception will be provided by Tanner Laws. Musician | Tanner Laws Music | Montana

Tanner was born and raised in Thompson Falls, Montana. In 2021 he stepped away from his position as a Civil Engineer to record his first album "Montana Livin'" and pursue music full-time. Tanner has recorded 2 albums, 7 singles, and more on the way. In 2023, he opened for the likes of Dustin Lynch, Clint Black, Sam Barber, Marty Stuart, Mitchell Tenpenny, Frank Ray, Kenny Feidler, and The Wilder Blue. Tanner performs both as a solo act as well as with a band mostly around Montana, but has begun traveling out of state for shows.

Details for those interested in being a vendor/exhibitor at the 2024 MDITE Annual Meeting can be found on the Vendor/Exhibitor page. Students

The LAC and the Student and Younger Member Committee are pleased to offer activities in Big Sky specifically geared towards students and young members. In addition to the Mountain District Traffic Bowl competition on Thursday evening, the following will also be offered:

  • During Session 2, all students and young members are invited to participate in a friendly student-run competition. A cash prize will be awarded to the winners.
  • During Session 5, attend a special technical session geared towards students and recent graduates featuring presentations about navigating job offers, employer expectations, and how to inspire effective teamwork.
  • Throughout the meeting, participate in Networking Bingo to get to know your fellow attendees.
  • Help raise money for the Student Fund by promoting participation in the Heads or Tails fundraiser!
 
All of this is on top of the ample opportunities to network with professionals and fellow students from across the Mountain District. We can’t wait to see you there!
