NMITE Monthly Meeting - November 9, 2023 - City of Albuquerque Bicycle Plan
The update to the City of Albuquerque Bikeway and Trail Facilities Plan takes a novel approach by emphasizing user comfort and the types of improvements needed to appeal to bicyclists of all ages and abilities. Utilizing national best practices in network planning and bikeway design, the Plan Update recommends a comprehensive set of projects for on-street bikeways and paved multi-use trails, with a focus on improvements that could be completed in the near term if funding becomes available.
The presentation will outline the principles that were applied in the development of the proposed Albuquerque bikeway and trail network and considerations for roadway design. The presentation coincides with a phase of community outreach in which members of the public can weigh in on which proposed projects should be prioritized. You can learn more about the project at www.abqbikeplan.com.
