NMITE Monthly Meeting -September 5, 2024 - I-40 Corridor Study
Parametrix is leading the development of a Phase I-A/B Corridor Study and Highway Operations Improvement Plan of 150 miles of I-40 from the Arizona State Line to the Atrisco Vista Interchange in Albuquerque. Bohannan Huston, Horrocks, Lee Engineering, and Terracon are also key team partners. This project included a major data collection effort for information related to traffic, safety, freight demand, geometrics, drainage, right-of-way, and environmental and community resources to identify key issues and potential solutions. Solutions include I-40 mainline and frontage road improvements; ITS solutions; and maintenance, construction, and incident traffic management strategies. As part of the work, Parametrix is creating a digital twin of project information in GIS, so the data can easily be accessed and used by NMDOT in future as projects move forward.
